BeSmart FAQs

We have assembled the following most frequently asked questions we receive, with their answers, for your convenience.  If your question is not here, please feel free to call us or email on info@besmart-training.co.uk.

questionHow long does it take my certificate to be sent to me after I have passed a exam?

For BIIAB qualifications such as the Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders, or the Level 2 National Certificate for Door Supervisors, qualification certificates generally take 7-10 days following confirmation of the examination pass.

For Edexcel qualifications such as the Level 2 BTEC Award in Vehicle Immobilisation, or the Level 2 BTEC Award in Security Operations, qualification certificates usually take 10-14 days following confirmation of the examination pass.

For Physical Intervention courses certificates usually arrive 14-21 days following successful completion of the course.

questionHow long is it before I get my examination results?

The BIIAB will return examination results on the same day they receive the examination papers from us.  This usually means that we can get you your examination results within two days of taking the examination.

For Edexcel courses examination papers are marked by a third party.  This means that they can take 7-10 working days to get the examination results to us.  Rest assured that they will be passed on to you as soon as we receive them.

For First Aid at Work all tests are marked on site and results are given the same day.

Maybo SAFERwork courses usually do not have an examination attached and are trainer assessed throughout the course.  Therefore any results due will be given the same day.

questionHow do I get an SIA Licence Application?

We hold a stock of SIA Licence applications and we will give all candidates an application if they do not already have one.

questionDo I need to supply identification?

Yes you do.

Depending on which course you are taking will depend on the amount of identification you need to supply.  For the forms of identification that are acceptable for the SIA courses please go to the SIA website at www.the-sia.org.uk, or click the link.

For BIIAB licensed retail courses a passport is the ideal form of idenficiation.

questionI'm doing a door supervisor course can I work as a security guard aswell once I have my door supervisor licence?

Yes you can.  The door supervisor licence is valid for both door superivison and security guarding.  This will give you much greater scope for employment and will give your employer greater flexibility when it comes for tendering for contracts.
questionHow long is a First Aid at Work certificate valid for?

Both the First Aid at Work certificate and the Appointed Person first aid certificate are valid for three years.

There are new rules which will come into effect in October 2009 regarding First Aid at Work.  Proposed changes include First Aid at Work refresher training every year.  As far as we know this will only apply to those people who train from October 2009 onwards.  First Aid Certificates issued prior to October 2009 will not be liable for annual refresher training until their renewal is due.

It is also planned that the Appointed Person course will be replaced by an Emergency First Aid at Work course which will still be one day.
