Description

Emergency First Aid at Work is a new one day course introduced by the HSE in October 2009 to replace the "Appointed Persons" course. This training enables a first-aider to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill while at work

HSE EFAW training covers acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency, reporting and record keeping, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and treating minor injuries.

This course is for you if  your First-Aid needs assesment  indicates that you require a qualified first-aider in your business or if your existing First Aid certificate has expired.

This course is NOT for you if you employ more than 50 people in your organisation or if your workplace is deemed to have high hazards. These businesses require the three day, HSE FAW course.

Is your current First Aid certificate dated prior to October 2009?

If so please note that the Appointed Person course has now been replaced with the EFAW course described above. If your First Aid certificate was issued prior to October 2009 it is still valid provided that it is still in date.

When you choose to renew your certificate, you will need to retrain under this new system.
