National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders
If you want to work in the licensed retail trade and want to sell alcohol to the general public you now require a Personal Licence. This licence is issued by your local licensing authority. To get a Personal Licence you will require an accredited qualification. The BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders, or NCPLH, is one such accredited qualification.
Here at BeSmart Training we offer this Personal Licence Holder course on a regular basis and this qualification is accepted by Local Licensing Authorities for a Personal Licence to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol.
QUALIFICATION: BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders, or NCPLH for short
DURATION: Learn in the comfort of your own home, or at work, in your own time. Course handbook and
workbook supplied
COST: £120 plus VAT
ASSESSMENT: When you're ready, call to arrange your online assessment with us. This must be taken at
our centre in London where we run regular assessment dates throughout the year. The
assessment involves a forty minute multiple-choice examination taken online.
RESULTS: Immediately following assessment
CERTIFICATE: 7-10 working days after passing the examination

Personal Licence Holder Course Description
Under the Licensing Act 2003, there is a statutory requirement that all retail sales of alcohol must be made or authorised by a Personal Licence holder. In addition, all premises licensed for the sale of alcohol must have a Designated Premises Supervisor appointed for those premises. This nationally recognised qualification meets both criteria and is accepted by Local Licensing Authorities.

It includes:
- Your BIIAB Level 2 course
- Criminal record check (Disclosure Scotland)
- Completion and submittion of your application form to the relevant local authority *
* The one stop shop is provided on the understanding that all correspondence will be sent to the candidates home address. It is understood that candidates may, from time to time, have to attend meetings at beSmart Training offices with personal details and correspondence from the licensing authority to ensure smooth implementation of the licence application procedure.
Conditions do apply for the one stop shop option. The course price does not guarantee examination passes. Should you fail the examination we will charge you resit fees at cost. This means we will only charge you the price that the awarding body charges us. Also, we cannot guarantee your acceptance by the licensing authority. If you are not eligible to work in the UK, or if you have a criminal record that prohibits you from getting a Personal Licence, or if you are refused for any other reason, we cannot be held accountable for them refusing you a licence. No refunds will be given from beSmart Training should your licence application be refused.
